Magnetic North Studio is owned and operated by Tod Levine, who brings more than thirty years of professional studio experience to every session. To ensure the highest level of quality and consistency, all mastering and production work at Magnetic North is performed personally by Tod. His hands-on approach guarantees that every project receives the same attention to detail and professional care.
Tod's career in professional audio began in 1980 at his family's legendary New York City company, AUDIOTECHNIQUES. During this formative period, he studied studio engineering under Howard Stein at White Cloud Recording on Long Island while simultaneously pursuing music studies as a full-time major at the renowned
High School for the Performing Arts.
Soon afterward, Tod joined White Cloud Recording as a staff engineer while continuing his education as a full-time audio engineering student at the Center for the Media Arts. Following his graduation from C.M.A., he was appointed Chief Engineer at Jerry Marotta's Wigtown Studio in Long Island City, New York.
Over the course of his career, Tod has held staff engineering positions at several respected recording facilities, including K-Town Studios, Funky Town, Platinum Island, Nevessa Studio, Applehead,
and Power Play Studios—the home of Boogie Down Productions. These experiences helped establish the depth of knowledge and technical expertise that continue to define the work produced at
Magnetic North Studio today.
